Obituary

Charlsie Marie McFerrin, age 75, of Temple passed from this life during the evening hours of Saturday, October 19, 2019 at her home. Born on the 29th day of March 1944 in Holland, Texas she was the daughter of Clarence “Casey” and Marie (Wernli) Jones.

Charlsie grew up in Holland and attended school there. Charlsie and RT “Redbug” McFerrin met in Holland and were married at the First Baptist Church in Holland on June 6, 1964; the newlywed couple would spend the next 55 years together and their family eventually expanded to include a son and a daughter. Charlsie and RT lived in several places through Texas including Boerne, Houston and Dallas but eventually they made their way back to Bell County in 2011. After her retirement from secretarial work, Charlsie spent her days reading, sewing, working crossword puzzles and researching her family’s genealogy. She was a kind-hearted soul who was devoted to her family and kind to all. She was particularly devoted to the care of her beloved pets - Abby, Snuffie and CoCo.

She is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Marie as well as 2 brothers Charles and Robert Jones.

Charlsie leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband RT McFerrin of Temple, son Greg McFerrin of The Grove and daughter Keisha McFerrin and husband Allen Rudolph of Boerne. She also leaves behind 1 sister Laura Hunka of Lockhart and 1 grandchild Matthew May, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorial donations in memory of Charlsie can be made to the Lone Star Shih Tzu and Lhasa Apso Rescue, PO Box 7728, Houston, TX 77270.
