Obituary

Juan Carlos Rodriguez, age 44, of Temple passed away on Friday, April 19, 2019 at his home with his family by his side. Juan was born in Mexico on the 17th day of May 1974 to parents Carlos and Amalia Rodriguez.

In 2000, while out jogging at a park in Belton, Juan caught the eye of Lorena Lopez. The two quickly became a couple and a 2 year courtship would ensue. The young couple would make their union binding in July of 2002 in Belton, Texas. Juan and Lorena set out to build a life together that would eventually include 2 sons and a daughter.

Juan’s passion was for sports, especially soccer. He, along with several brothers and friends, formed the Cantera Soccer League in the Temple area. The league was a way for soccer enthusiasts to come together and play the sport that they love so much. He was devoted to his physical well-being and spent a lot of time exercising and enjoying the outdoors. Juan was a devoted husband, father, brother and friend. He loved his family and loved spending time with them. He would cut up and joke with everyone and loved to have a good time. He was a drywall installer by trade for many years. The love and passion for family and soccer as well as the memories left behind will be the legacy that Juan leaves for those he knew for generations to come.

Juan is preceded in death by his father Carlos Rodriguez.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Lorena Rodriguez and 3 children Alexander, Hentze and Clarissa Rodriguez as well as his mother Amalia Kaltenbaugh and her husband Frank. He is also survived by his siblings Francisca Salinas, Guadalupe Lorena Rodriguez, Juan Luis Rodriguez, Ernesto Bautista Rodriguez, Sonia Montalbo, Boni Rodriguez and Sergio Rodriguez as well as many other extended family, friends and team mates.

Funeral services will be held at Hewett-Arney Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at noon with Timoteo Williams officiating. A burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple. The family will be accepting visitors on Wednesdays night between the hours of 6 and 8 p.m. At 7 p.m. the Catholic funeral rite will be read.

Hewett-Arney Funeral Home of Temple is entrusted with the arrangements.
