Karen Williams (Fowler)
Karen Fowler Williams, 73, passed away peacefully, Friday May 11th after a long battle with cancer. A celebration of remembrance will be held at 158 Lakeshore Dr., Fairfield on Saturday May 19th at 1PM.
Karen was born November 8, 1944, in Lubbock, Texas to Wally and Fran Fowler. Soon thereafter Karen and her parents found their way to Houston, Texas where she eventually graduated from Westbury High School and then attended an exclusive all girl's college in Greenbriar, North Carolina, majoring in Art. Karen moved to Fairfield in 1979 and quickly became involved in the community as a parent volunteer, mentor and leader with the local 4-H Horse Club. Karen also worked at Fairfield Junior High as the attendance and records clerk for many years where she touched the hearts of many parents, children and staff.
Karen is survived by her husband Ken Williams, her brother Gib Fowler, her son Chris Martin and his wife Amy; her step daughter Tracy Lair and step son Pat Williams and his wife Melinda. She was also loved by her granddaughter Shannon Margraves, grandson Wade Lair, granddaughter Callie Williams, grandson KC Williams, grandson Alex Martin and grandson Justin Williams as well as 3 great grandchildren.
