Obituary for James David Wheeler
James David Wheeler was born on November 11, 1952 in Houston, Texas to Dorothy and Glennon Wheeler, Sr. He attended Conroe High School where he was a member of the Acapella Choir. After high school James enlisted in the United States Army. While in the Army he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Marksman Badge and the Driver and Mechanic Badge. He retired from the Army after serving 20 years. After James retired from the Army he moved to Cleburne, Texas. He chose Cleburne to retire because as he had often said his favorite times were spent in Cleburne where his grandmother lived and he enjoyed spending time with her. He lived in Cleburne until he moved to Temple in 2018.
James died of an illness on February 27, 2018.
James was preceded in death by his parents Dorothy and Glennon Wheeler, Sr, his older brother, Michael James Wheeler and his son Michael James Wheeler.
Survivors include his wife, Yolanda “Susan” Hayden, his brother, Glennon Wheeler Jr and his wife Cindy, his sister, Virginia Frantz and her husband David. James’ children, David Wheeler and his fiancée’ Sondra Roberts, Jason Potter and his wife Ruth, Jaime Daniels and her husband David, Jennifer Anderson, Timmy Anderson and his wife Sarah, and Valerie Cook and her husband Chris.
James’ had 22 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
