Garry Dean Burke, age 69 of Buda Texas, died at his residence on November 23, 2017.
He was born in Miami Oklahoma on July 18, 1948 to James Robert and Margie Irene (Brown) Burke and he was raised by his mother and stepfather Paul Scott.
Garry served proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, he received the Vietnam Service Medal w/2 Bronze Service Stars and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/Device.
Garry and his wife Peggy owned and operated Casino Connection Bus Tours for many years. He enjoyed playing poker.
He was a hardworking man and always had a project going on. He would either be working on a tow truck, car, or building something. He knew how to do it all!
He loved to talk and laugh with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Loved to watch Judge Judy.
Garry is preceded in death by his wife of 38 years.
He is survived by 3 daughters – Lisa Ball and husband James, Deana Burke, Michelle Lewis and husband Patrick, 2 sons – Garry P Burke and wife Teresa, Robert Burke and wife Amy, 11 grandchildren – Amanda Burke, Sierra Mitchell, James Ball Jr., Terrence Mitchell Jr., Kayla Ball, Brittany Burke, Garrett Burke, Max Burke, Jake Burke, Jordyn Burke, Si Vernon and Xavier Lewis, 7 great-grandchildren – Dakota Burke, Addalyn Burke, Alonzo Mack, Aariyah Mack, Shomari Walters, Ryker Carnes, and Bodie Burke, 3 sisters – Katy Fluharty and husband Gerry, Pat Scott and Wendy Payne, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends that he loved.
Visitation will be held at Hewett-Arney Funeral Home, Temple Texas on November 30, 2017 from 10:00 to Noon, Burial at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, Killeen Texas at 1:00PM. Honors will be provided by the United States Army.
