Obituary for Josie Mae "Nana" Lamb (Emanuel)
Josie Mae Lamb, aged 84 years, passed from this life during the early morning hours of Monday, December 25, 2017 at a Round Rock hospital. She was born on the 3rd day of September 1933 in Austin, Texas to Jesse and Allamay (Randle) Emanuel.
Josie married Weldon Lamb in December of 1990 in Austin, Texas. Together they enjoyed 20 years spending time with each other until Weldon’s passing. In her earlier years Josie graduated from Austin High School. After moving to the Bell County area she had become involved with the Belton Church of Christ and was a member of the Lion’s Club for many years. Josie was also very involved with the Cherokee Children’s Home in Cherokee, Texas. She had been a resident of Mason, Texas for 5 years prior to her death and a resident of Temple for 12 years before that.
She is preceded in death by her first husband Lamar Dyess, her second husband Weldon Lamb, her parents Jesse and Allamay, one son Michael Dyess and one brother Vincent Lockwood.
Josie leaves to cherish her memory her 4 sons Steven Dyess of Brownwood, Kevin Lamb of Maryland, Mark Lamb of Houston, Doug Lamb of Oklahoma and her 4 daughters Kathlene Ann Dyess of Brady, Sharon Hicks of Temple, Lori Polk of Austin and Gwen Rogers of San Saba. She also leaves behind her 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Services for Josie will be held at 8 AM on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at the Belton Church of Christ with a burial to follow at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. Minister Jerry DeBord will be officiating. A family and friend visitation will be held Wednesday night from 6-8 PM at Hewett-Arney Funeral Home Chapel in Temple.
